Part 2! After our amazing stay in San Clemente, we were headed down to San Diego! It had been a while since I had been to San Diego, so we were excited to do some exploring! Of course the kids and I had the best time swimming and relaxing, lots of relaxing, at the hotel. I’m thinking we need an in ground pool in our backyard….
Jax is always showing me his moves!
Wednesday night we were all still so sleepy and definitely needed to keep things low key. We decided to go to the Drive In Movie! It was a double feature of Despicable Me 3 and Cars 3. Jax and Mia were so excited! We loaded up on some yummy treats and all crammed in the front seats.
We went back and forth trying to decide where to go on Friday. We finally picked Sea World and I’m so glad we did! I haven’t been since I was very young and Jules and the kids have never been! Of course we picked the hottest day that week, but we still had a blast! We were so excited to see all of the amazing exhibits, but most excited (at least I was most excited) to see the Orcas!
These creatures were so majestic. I was in awe at their beauty! We made it to one of the shows and it was so fun! Again it was ridiculously hot, but it was fun to watch the whales and learn new things about them! Our second favorite part of Sea World was The Arctic. Partly because the air conditioning was magical, but mostly because we went through the penguin exhibit 3 times! Mia kept saying “Happy Feet”!
Jax is still talking about killer whales and I’m sure we will visit again!
Up the next morning and we hit the road again! This time we headed to Las Vegas! Relaxing was number one on our list! Jules had a week of work ahead of him so we soaked up as much sun as we could! We did do a little exploring and I’m so glad we did! Before it got ridiculously hot, we headed out to the Red Rock Canyon. It was breathtaking. I never realized how much I would love all of the desert landscaping, but it was all beautiful!
The pool at our hotel was pretty great! There was a waterfall, and Jax and Mia had transformed into little fish! We swam all day everyday and it was perfect.
By the end of the week, number 3, we were all so ready to get back home! My bed was calling me! We packed up and hit the road! Las Vegas to Boise, Idaho! The kids did amazing on the drive home, and we made great time! Rolling in around midnight, home sweet home and an insane amount of laundry…
I’m so glad we finally took this talked about road trip with Jules! We all had so much fun and can’t wait for round two! Tell me all of your favorite things to do in Northern California (Sacramento, San Francisco) and Lake Tahoe!
XO,
Corrine Monique
