Happy First Day of Fall! I didn’t think I was ready to see the nice warm sunny weather leave us, but really what was I thinking!? I am so ready for fall! I feel like this week of rain we have had totally prepped me for the first day of Fall! I have scattered pumpkins through out the house, my favorite Butternut Squash Chili (recipe to come) is in the crockpot, and I am baking pumpkin bread! I mean it doesn’t get much better than that!
This Fall we are settled into our home and so ready to enjoy this season. For me Fall is the calm before the chaos of the holidays to come! I love just taking in all the moments and making cozy memories with all our loved ones. So here is our Fall Bucket List, in no particular order (and sometimes repeated)!
1. Fall Harvest Festival- Idaho Botanical Gardens
We love attending the Botanical Garden A Glow during the winter months, but I never knew there was a Harvest Festival! It sounds like a ton of fun! There are activities for the kids, pumpkins, food and drinks, and live entertainment! Kids 4 and under are free and Adults are $7. There is a giant pile of pumpkins perfect for taking adorable fall pictures, so really that’s all I need!
2. Linder Farms
Speaking of Pumpkins! We went to Linder Farms last year and loved it! They had field after field of all the different kinds of pumpkins you could think of, plus there prices were amazing! We walked away with a whole car full of the cutest white and orange pumpkins for like $6! They also have rides and different activities. We didn’t do them last year with the kids being so young, but maybe this year we will try them out!
Additional to Linder Farms I really want to check out The Berry Ranch! I read about this place last year, but wasn’t able to make it work! They have pony rides, so basically Mia will be in heaven, and in addition to their pumpkin patch they have other produce available. Also, during the spring they have a pick your own Strawberry Patch! Sign me up!!
I can’t believe I am saying this, but I haven’t been to the Farmers Market once this year! I am putting it on my list and making it happen!! Fall is the perfect time to visit the Market downtown Boise! The fresh cider and all the fall produce is exactly what I think of when I think Fall!
We are getting really excited for this one! The Firebird Halloween Classic is something my Dad looks forward to every year and now that we are here, he gets to bring us along! All the different cars and trucks are set up for a night of trick or treating! A lot of them go all out with their costumes and decorations making it so much fun for everyone!!
6. Carve Pumpkins & Jump in Leaves
So this is going to happen right in our backyard! One of my favorite things about our house is our giant Maple Tree in the backyard! I know I probably wont be saying this after this year, but I can’t wait to rake up all the leaves and teach the kids how to jump in them! This will also be our first year of carving pumpkins with Jax and Mia. I’m not sure how Jax is going to feel about the situation, but I’m excited to try it out!
7. Scarf Exchange Party
Last year I hosted a fun night with all my girlfriends for a Scarf Exchange. We had yummy food, delicious fall drinks, and each of us brought a scarf to exchange! It was so much fun doing it in the fall before everyone’s schedules got to crazy from the Holidays! Can’t wait to start planning this years party!
I hope you are all enjoying chilly weather today on the first day of Fall! If you’re not, crank the A/C and throw on a chunky sweater and start making those Fall Bucket Lists!
XO,
Corrine Monique
