I can’t believe it! I am already halfway through my 6 week round of Faster Way To Fat Loss. It feels good.
I needed direction this year. I needed something that I could put everything into and something that would help keep me accountable. Jumping back into FWTFL just made sense! I followed the program for about year and a half 4 years ago. I loved every part of it so I knew this was a good fit for me again. The way this program has given me the tools to fuel my body with real whole foods, is my favorite.
What is FWTFL? It is a 6 week program that includes carb cycling, working out, and intermittent fasting. When you sign up for the 6 weeks you get access to the AMAZING app that has everything you need to succeed. Meal plans (vegan and carnivore choices), grocery lists, water intake trackers, macro calculator (which your coach helps set up), A REAL LIFE COACH, full daily workouts, fasting timer, and so much more!
What does my Coach do for me? The coaches at FWTFL are amazing! They have so much knowledge to share and the support is amazing! Jocelyn James is my coach and she is such a bright spot in this journey for me. She has an accountability group where she teaches the group everything we need to know. We get to check in and ask questions, and even have one on one phone calls. The FWTFL coaches are here to help you succeed and really teach you the tools of success!
Is it EASY? This is probably the question I get asked the most. This program is what you put into it. I think it’s easy for the fact that you are provided with every tool necessary to follow the 6 weeks perfectly. Like any other change in life, it takes mental focus and dedication to change those habits and make it a part of your everyday life. Week 1 of 6 is Prep Week. It is mapped out to teach you how to be successful and see results over the next 5 weeks. If you have never tracked macros, it’s a learning curve, but once you get its with you forever! I didn’t have any background in tracking macros or intermittent fasting and honestly its my favorite way to fuel my body now!!
What does the fasting look like? I promise you, intermittent fasting is NOT scary! You are NOT starving yourself, and once you do it for a week, you don’t even notice it anymore! When I am in my fasting window I hydrate with all the water + I drink black coffee in the morning. There are fasting approved creamers you can add to your coffee, but I choose to do black coffee for me. The best part about this program is you really do get to customize everything to you and your life. You get to choose your fasting windows and what works for you. Again, your coach, Jocelyn, teaches you how to approach intermittent fasting + what creamers you should stay away from.
Is this just for weight loss? While that is not the main focus, naturally when you make healthy changes in your life like we do in this program, you will most likely see weight loss. What FWTFL likes to focus on is non scale victories! You will see an increase in energy, strength, your sleep habits will start to change, mental clarity! FWTFL really focuses on eating real whole foods, and fueling your body with lots of veggies, fruits, and meat (if you eat meat). Think back to the basics and cut out all the process stuff!
Can you drink Alcohol? FWTFL really is what you put into it. Technically you can eat and drink whatever you want. This program is set up to help you live while knowing how to fuel your body properly. You absolutely can have alcohol if you choose too! Jocelyn, your coach, teaches you how to track alcohol into your macros. I haven’t had any alcohol this first 3 weeks, but I will be traveling next month and know I will have a drink or two during my travels. “Memories over Macros” that’s what Jocelyn likes to remind us!
How many calories do you eat a day? We don’t track calories we track macros. Most people are probably underrating everyday. Seems crazy right. Most of us are probably under consuming protein too. FWTFL teaches you how to eat in balance without depriving yourself! We are eating and we are feeling really good about it!
Do I plan all my meals ahead of time? One of the great parts about FWTFL is they provide you with a full weekly meal guide including grocery lists + recipes! AMAZING! I personally haven’t followed it, but I will occasionally use a recipe here and there! I usually do a grocery trip at the beginning of the week, Monday, I grab the staples that I know I will grab for throughout the week, eggs, bananas, apples, bell peppers, etc.. Every morning before I break my fast, I usually try to fill in my days worth of food. If I know we are have tacos for dinner, I will fill that in so I can see where I’m at with the rest of my macros. Then I am able to eat accordingly the rest of the day. With that being said, I work from home and am able to have access to my kitchen most days. If I was away from my home for most of the day, personally, I would plan out my meals. When I have to scramble to eat, or grab something quick, often times I’m not eating a very balanced meal. That’s just me though! The first week or two really allows you to play around with everything and figure out what works best for you!
As I head into the next 3 weeks I am really excited to continue to see changes in my body and energy. I have already seen so much change. I am cooking really yummy food! I’m serving my kids healthier, less processed options, my emotions and mental clarity are better than they have been in a long time. My clothes are starting to fit more comfortably. This program may not be for everyone, but for me, it’s something I can successfully follow and feel amazing every step of the way!
