Hey ladies!! Happy Friday! We all got the best nights sleep last night, like a whole 10 hours straight! When Mia came into my room this morning I honestly thought it was like 2 am. Talk about good sleep. Jules has been working 12+ hour days + this week he traveled to Arizona, so needless to say… we are all tired! I should probably be used to Jules being gone all day since I have been doing the “one man” parenting during the weeks for two years, but it just doesn’t get easier, or less tiring!
Side note: Jules flew to Arizona for meetings on Tuesday morning and got back on Thursday morning at like 1 am. When he went to leave the next morning I basically broke down in tears. He was laughing at me because he was just going to work, like 2 miles from our apartment. I was simply overcome with all the emotions and feelings of gratitude that I get to see his sweet face every single day and night. In life we have the power to make decisions. That’s kind of cool right!? Jules and I have made sacrifices and hard life decisions to be where we are at today. Sometimes life doesn’t make sense when you are in the thick of it, and we have found ourselves questioning the path we have chosen, but at the end of the day we are beyond grateful and blessed for what this life is. Our faith and trust in the bigger plan has grown and wavered and stood strong through all of this and I know that we are right where we need to be.
Okay moving on! Let’s talk Friday Favorites!!! All throughout the week I usually keep you all up to date with the things I’m trying and loving, or maybe not loving, but I have some fun stuff that I am loving this week!
First on my list is the new, to me, gradual tanning lotion! So I know I have been using and talking about the Nivea Sun-kissed Radiance Gradual Tanner for a while now. I still love it and own several bottles!!! Since we are in California and I only brought one bottle, that is nearly empty, I needed to grab some more moisturizer! I got this St. Tropez Tinted Moisturizer last week and I am loving it! First things first, it doesn’t stink! You know what I am talking about. Self tanning products can smell so bad and who wants to deal with that! Second, I love the consistency of this lotion. It’s sort of a body butter feel, being much thicker. I feel like this allows me to have more control of the application. It is not streaky at all and blends so well. So I know this one is a bit more expensive, but hear me out. I like to use the Nivea lotion everyday to get the full effect of the gradual tan. I have found that I can get away with applying the St. Tropez product once every 4-5 days! The color stays and I just supplement with a daily moisturizing in between to keep my skin hydrated!
I mentioned a couple weeks back about needing something to help my dry brittle hair! Since we have been in California we are in the sun all the time. We have a pool at the apartment complex we are currently staying at, and you bet we use that almost everyday! The kids love it, I love it, we all love it! But… my hair does not love it! I can’t believe how dry and unhealthy it was getting! I have never really used a ton of hair products. I get it dyed once every 6 months or so and in between that I wash it once a week (sometimes longer) and use a purple shampoo once a month. Other than that I use the occasional dry shampoo and that’s it! I did some research and read a ton of reviews and ultimately ended up going with this Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil. I am obsessed! It doesn’t make my hair feel oily at all. A little goes a long way, and I fully plan on keeping this in my hair regimen forever! It makes my hair feel so hydrated and look even healthier! This oil has so many benefits too! Softens, silkens, tames, de-frizzes, detangles, and protects against heat/UV damage! Sold!
I only brought a couple pairs of shorts with me to California, as soon as we get a house the rest of my stuff will come here too! I. Can’t. Wait. I grabbed a couple pairs of shorts from American Eagle and I love them! I bought a couple pairs of jean shorts last year and they have the softest material! I love the stretch and they fit of they distressed denim. I got two pair, and right now they are having a sale, buy one get one 50% off of jeans and shorts! The first pair I ordered is the AE Tomgirl Bermuda Shorts. I wasn’t sure how I was going to like the bermuda style, but I love them! They are super soft, and the color is perfect. The distressing is in all the right places too. I feel like this pair runs true to size! The second pair I got is the AE Tomgirl Short Short. So the name sounds a little risky, but I actual love the length of this short and love how they fit. They are a great grab and head to the beach or pool short!
Okay the last one is something I have already talked about. I know I did an entire blog post about it HERE but I just had to add it to my favorites here! My Alice Unique Backpack/Bag is my favorite! I feel like I am at that phase with my kiddos where I don’t really need to carry a diaper bag, but I still feel like I am carrying around all the things for them! Since we don’t use a stroller anymore I am always holding a hand or using my hands to herd them through the store, or the parking lot, or just life in general! When I wear my Alice Unique Bag as a backpack I don’t even feel like I have a bag on my back! It can hold all the things you can imagine! Living in California you have to pay for your grocery bags. Well since we hadn’t stocked up on our reusable bags, we just loaded my backpack up with groceries! I was so surprised at how much it held! This one ships Amazon Prime and you can use my discount code for an additional 15% off!! (CS152018) I have the black and I really want to add the Grey to my collection! If you decide this is the bag for you let me know! I would love to see you sporting your new backpack!
Okay that’s it for today!! I hope you all enjoy your Friday and up coming weekend!
XO,
Corrine Monique
