It’s Birthday week for our little Mia! I can’t believe she will be THREE! Where has the time gone!? Seriously… when did I acquire a four and a three year old??? As I get over my sadness of my baby growing up, I will just try and focus on all the fun of celebrating another great year ahead of us!
So around this house we do parties big! I love to plan and prep and put together parties!! Give me a reason to throw a party together and I am all over it! So in honor of Mia’s “Golden” birthday coming up on Saturday, I’m recapping so of her past Birthdays through out the week!! Starting with her 1st Birthday!
It was so much fun planning this party! When I was little I had a circus tea set (the tea set in her cake smash pictures). I loved the tea set and I still have it! When my mom brought the box with that tea set all wrapped up, I knew that was what I needed for my inspiration! Mia was turning one under the big top!!!
One of the things I love so much about planning parties, is the crafting and DIY I get to do!! I used as much gold and glitter as I could fit in. Cutting out the BIG TOP letters was perfect for the entry! I loved and actually reused these pinwheels! They were super easy to make, and really you could make them for any party if you just change out the paper!
Her monthly pictures were so fun to see! Tassel garlands galore! Again, these are such an easy addition to any party!!
I knew I needed a popcorn arch!! I did not know how I was going to execute it… Jules to the rescue!! We stayed up until like 1 in the morning blowing up balloons and stringing them! I still loved to see how this turned out!! It was amazing! We purchased a giant roll of red and white striped table cloth. We wrapped our crib mattress boxes and that was it!
The entryway was one of my favorite parts! Next to the popcorn arch I had a table with the “M”, that is now hanging in Mia’s bedroom, and a circus book for everyone to sign as the guest book!
I made fun little circus themed party favors in the popcorn boxes for all the kids to take home!
We had a drink station with soda, water, and punch! We also had a popcorn machine with little popcorn bags to fill!
I always like to make the Birthday Cake the center of the food table! It was so fun making her little “1” topper and her banner for the high chair!
Food!!! This was such a fun menu to put together!! We had lots of circus food! Corndogs, soft pretzels, popcorn, mini sliders, scones, ice cream cone cupcakes, circus animal cookies, cakeballs, and cupcakes! It was all so yummy!!! I crafted the birthday banner and added more pin wheels here!
This little lady was and still is so loved! Everyone enjoyed celebrating “Under The Big Top”! Her 1st Birthday party was a great success!!

Corrine Monique
