After a week of celebrating our sweet baby girl turning 3, it’s Monday again. We had such a great weekend with friends and family soaking up the first days of Mia turning three! I can’t believe that time has flown by at top speed!!! Please slow down!
I didn’t put as much time and effort into planning Mia’s party, like I usually do… Life seems to be so much busier with growing toddlers and a new house we are trying to get finished! Anyone want to come grow some grass in our backyard??? No? Ya, me neither!
Well the Monday before Mia’s birthday rolled around, I figured I should probably start putting something together, since I knew people were going to be at my house around 5 on Saturday! I knew I had to incorporate gold since this was her “Golden” Birthday! Naturally I wanted to make it super girly too!
One thing I didn’t have to plan were her Birthday morning Pancakes! I never really planned for this to be a tradition, but that’s what it has become! And I love it!! I use the same balloon candles and, obviously, change out the number. The kids love it, and I absolutely love looking back at all the pictures!
Mia couldn’t wait for Jules to light the candles before she started blowing them out! We had to cover her mouth while we all sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to her! Once we let her blow them out she thought it was the greatest!!
For this party I wanted to incorporate food that Mia loves! Pancakes and bacon were on the top of that list! We love having breakfast for dinner on a regular basis, so why not!? Of course I didn’t want to just stop at just pancakes and bacon, so I created a little “Build Your Own Parfait” bar! It was so yummy! Bonus, the fresh fruit added great color to the food area! I also made mini frittatas. They were all gone by the end of the party!
Even though I already had the sweets from the parfait and the syrup and pancakes, I had to have a cake and some other desserts! I tried a new recipe for my cookies and they turned out so good! I also made the yummiest Banana Muffins with a sour cream frosting! I have always made their cakes for past birthdays, but this year I really wanted to make things easy for myself. I ordered a three layer naked cake from Albertson’s and it turned out so cute! I bought some fresh flowers for decorations, and used a couple buds for the cake. Super easy and so so cute!! The gold 3 is from Hobby Lobby and the cake stand is from Thai Pan Trading.
Everything turned out perfect! We all had a great time and Mia loved every second of her party! Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of this special day.
Happy 3rd Birthday Mia!
