Good morning! We survived another week, and it was a good one! I feel like we had a lot of successes in our little home and that makes my mama heart happy. With the new year and my sweet kiddos changing by the day, please stop, I feel like we are trying to find our new groove. I definitely feel like we are getting there. This weeks favorites are simple but so life changing for me! Let’s get started!

A clutter free house is at the top of my list this week! Last week when my kiddos came down with a horrible sickness, thank goodness it wasn’t the flu, I turned into a crazy woman and started getting rid of everything! I feels so good to have space on my counter tops. Since the house is already simple and clean, it is so much easier to keep it clean through out the day! By the end of the day I am not feeling like I lost all control that day. I like that this new minimalist feel is also making my life easier! Here’s to way more time playing with my kiddos instead of cleaning!

Right along the lines of keeping my house clutter free and at a minimalist state, I am going back to the basics as far as my wardrobe goes! I am absolutely loving that the “athleisure” trend is still going strong, plus all my comfy basic pieces are feeling the love again! If you follow along with me on Instagram, you have definitely seen this pair of jeans HERE that I am obsessed with! I am also loving this easy tee HERE and it’s marked 50% off right now!! Here are some looks at how I’m sticking to the basics.

Okay let’s talk hair! Who else loves wash day??? Spoiler alert, I usually wash my hair once every 7-10 days! I have really thick hair and it seriously takes F O R E V E R to wash, blow dry, and style. I’m a mama with two tiny humans asking for something every two seconds, ain’t no one got time for that. When that wash day comes, my just so happened to be yesterday, I love the way my freshly curled hair feels and looks! For Christmas Jules got me a GHD Curve 1.25″ Soft Curl Iron, it is magic. With how thick and frizzy my hair is naturally, I couldn’t even believe my eyes the first time I used it! I normally have to curl my hair with my flatiron to allow myself to essentially striaghten while I’m curling. This GHD curling iron does it all! I go straight from blow drying to curling and it is so easy to use! Stay tuned for a Hair tutorial video coming next week!

Okay, so again if you follow me on Instagram you have probably seen me talk about this one in my stories, lots! On Monday I had this crazy idea to put my kiddos to bed at 6 pm instead of the usual 8 pm. So let me preface this with, I am no sleep expert, in fact I am the complete opposite! Now when it comes to my own sleep I can sleep anytime anywhere. As far as my children go, they would rather not partake in this glorious activity. Bed time has always been a struggle and fight. Once they were actually asleep after sometimes 2-3 hours of convincing them to fall asleep, it was 10 pm! This entire week we have started our bedtime routine at 6 pm on the dot. Potty, brush teeth, bedtime story, lights out, and they were asleep by 6:40 every single night without a fight! They still wake up at their normal time between 6 and 7 am, and we all feel rested and happy! I love that my sweet babies are getting the proper amount of sleep they need, and I’m so very grateful we found a routine that is working wonders!! As a mama it really is all about those small victories. Oh and I am not complaining about the 2-4 extra hours I have in the evening to get stuff done, or even sleep!! I have been reading and it is so very calming.

Last, but definitely not least, on my list is my Nespresso Breville Vertuo Plus Coffee & Espresso Maker with Frother. We used to have a Keurig and we are never going back! Our Nespresso machine makes the yummiest coffee and espresso I have had in a long time. We weren’t really sure how much we were going to actually love this machine, and really didn’t even know if we were going to keep it, but as soon as we found the pods we loved, the rest is history! I love that it has totally changed the way I drink my coffee! With the Keurig I was drinking 4 cups a day, give or take, with our Nespresso I am having one cup in the morning and occasionally an espresso in the evening. Every time I have a cup, I can’t believe how good it is. I used to be an avid Starbucks drinker, and now I prefer to come home and make my own latte. If you have been on the fence about getting a Nespresso I am here to tell you we did not regret it!
That’s it for today! What are some of your favorites from the week?? We are so ready to relax and enjoy our weekend starting now!
XO,
Corrine Monique
