So this seems kind of silly to post since we are moving now, but I wanted to capture the kid’s rooms one last time before we left! This house has been such a joy to all of us. We have loved every step of making it our home and I am truly going to miss it. When we moved into this house (almost) two years ago, everything was so different! Mia was still in a crib, and by in a crib, she never really slept in her crib because she slept in my bed… Ya we are working on that. Let’s just say we moved her crib into her room and it was a baby room. Now we are packing up and she has a big girl room! How is that possible!?
Okay so let’s start with the BEFORE pictures. In my head I don’t remember there being such a drastic change, but look at these before pictures!
I love how light and airy her room is now. I knew I wanted to paint the walls white and make everything as bright as possible! We replaced the carpet with the hardwood flooring in the rest of the house. Her crib was white, you can find it HERE or HERE, and I knew I wanted to have a white big girl bed as well! We found the perfect rustic simple headboard from one of our local shops, Sweet Tea Living, in Eagle, Idaho. If you haven’t checked out Megan’s shop already, it’s definitely a must! She is the sweetest and she finds the best stuff!
All the other furniture in Mia’s room is from her original nursery! The nightstands were a great find on Amazon along with the shutter mirrors above the nightstands. All of the little decorations were random finds through out the years! I wanted an antique rustic vibe, so most of the items are thrift finds! I can’t wait to re-purpose all of Mia’s decorations in our new house!
When I decorate the kid’s rooms, I love when the items have meaning behind them! Does anyone else get sentimental about that kind of stuff?? The ‘M’ is from Mia’s 1st Birthday party, and the Walt Disney quote is from Jax’s 3rd Birthday party just to name a few. Of course Poppy from Build A Bear had to make the shot! The porcelain dolls on the shelf were mine when I was a kid and I love that I can pass my memories on to Mia!!
Probably the most popular thing in Mia’s room is the Kitchen set up! This KidKraft Vintage Play Kitchen is 4 years old and still going strong! We love it! I love that it’s a neutral color and doesn’t look obnoxious in her room. Those toys are saved for the toy room. Every kid that comes to our house runs straight to the kitchen and love every part of it!
I love how girly everything is while it is all so functional! Mia spends so much time in her room and I love that! Now if we could just get her to consistently sleep in that comfy bed…
