Good morning Friends! It’s a new day and the sun is out! I hope you are having a fantastic morning and focusing on all those blessings in your life. I have made a little deal with myself that instead of focusing on the crazy that my (our) life is, I am going to focus on the blessings and things that I am so grateful for! Guess what… it’s working! Jules and I have felt a little bit of the stress lift, and we are laughing so much! Life is good.
Okay so I am finally coming through with one, of a couple to come, makeup tutorial. After I posted some storied the other night post photoshoot, I got so many questions about what I was wearing! I love playing around with makeup and making the product that I have work and that is what this look was a product of. I had a small window to get ready so I made it work.
Whenever I do my make up to take pictures I always make it much more dramatic or pigmented than any normal day. Even though that’s the case, I would, and will, totally wear this look all through out fall!!
Foundation:
I have gotten multiple questions about what foundation I use. I love that I love the foundation I use. It is amazing, affordable, and I pretty sure I will use it forever. I use the Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid Foundation in the color Pebble. I talk about this in my video, but I love this foundation because it is buildable without feeling cakey. You can use as little or as much as you want to get the coverage you need. My skin is more on the oily side. This foundation does not make my face oily at all!! I have also used it when my skin was dry, that Idaho life, and I loved it just as much then! To apply it I simply use my finger to place the foundation on my face and then I use my favorite brush, IT Cosmetics Complexion Brush, to blend the foundation in. Love this combo!
Next I use my tried and true Tarte Shape Tape in the color Light. I swear by this stuff! It stays on all day long. Through sweat and water and all the climates, this stuff stays put! I love that it brightens my under eyes and I don’t have to worry about the darkness being exposed at all! I love the product application. The wand makes it super easy to put the product in the exact place you want. Once I have applied the concealer to my face I use my sponge/Beautyblender (damp) to blend it out.
The last step for my foundation process is my favorite finishing powder. I have always loved using a pressed powder over the top of my liquid foundation to blend everything in and give my face more of a matte finish. I recently started using this IT Cosmetics Airbrush Perfecting Powder and I love it. It is breathable and finished and blends perfectly. I apply this with the largest brush from my Sonia Kashuk Brush Set.
Contour & Highlight:
The rest of the steps are pretty quick and easy! I use my new Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit and it has been great! When I contour I try and go by the “3” rule. I make a three on the side of my face, putting the pigment on my forehead, under my cheek bones, and then on my jaw line. I explain in the video! I love the highlighter in this kit. It is subtle and beautiful!
Blush. I haven’t purchased a new blush in who knows how long. I love the one I have so I haven’t gotten another on. The Bobbi Brown Blush in the color Sand Pink is such a great blush. The color stays all day long. A little goes a long way, hence why I haven’t gotten anything new!
Brows & Eye Shadow:
The next step is brows. I love brows. I love filling mine in and making them just the way I want them! In today’s tutorial, I am using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Mechanical Brow Pencil in the color Dark Brown. I really like this pencil because you have everything you need. The pencil as well as the brush for your brows. The pencil glides really nicely making it easy to apply.
I like to apply my eye shadow next. For today’s look I only used one color! I grabbed this color on a whim and it turned out perfect! I used Estee Lauder Eye Shadow in the color Vain Violet. I really like this little sample eye shadow that I have! The pigment is really strong, and the shadow stays on all day long. To apply the shadow I simply put the color on the outside corner and halfway into my crease. That’s it!! Super easy!
Lashes:
For lashes I did the same routine that I always do. You can read a full post about my lashes HERE. The only difference in today’s lashes is that I didn’t use primer.
Lips:
Last but certainly not least. Lips. I have gotten more questions about this color and any other color! The MAC Lipstick in the color Velvet Teddy is the perfect color. It is so soft and warm, and perfect for fall! I love wearing this color all year long, but fall is my favorite!
That’s it! If you have any questions, send them my way!! I love sharing all of my secrets with all of you! Let me know if you try them out!
XO,
Corrine Monique
