Good morning! It is so fun to see so many new faces here today! Last week I talked about stepping out of my comfort zone with my makeup and trying something new! I am normally more of a basic, neutral kind of gal, but this time I took my favorite basic pallet and created a really pretty smokey eye look! I am always saying how I am definitely not a professional when it comes to makeup, but here’s the deal. You just have to try! Practice makes perfect, and I have had so much fun trying out new products and techniques. I promise you can do it too!
Foundation:
I have gotten multiple questions about what foundation I use. I love that I love the foundation I use. It is amazing, affordable, and I pretty sure I will use it forever. I use the Estee Lauder Double Wear Liquid Foundation in the color Pebble. I talk about this in my video, but I love this foundation because it is buildable without feeling cakey. You can use as little or as much as you want to get the coverage you need. My skin is more on the oily side. This foundation does not make my face oily at all!! I have also used it when my skin was dry, that Idaho life, and I loved it just as much then! To apply it I simply use my finger to place the foundation on my face and then I use my favorite brush, IT Cosmetics Complexion Brush, to blend the foundation in. Love this combo!
Next I use my tried and true Tarte Shape Tape in the color Light. I swear by this stuff! It stays on all day long. Through sweat and water and all the climates, this stuff stays put! I love that it brightens my under eyes and I don’t have to worry about the darkness being exposed at all! I love the product application. The wand makes it super easy to put the product in the exact place you want. Once I have applied the concealer to my face I use my sponge/Beautyblender (damp) to blend it out.
The last step for my foundation process is my favorite finishing powder. I have always loved using a pressed powder over the top of my liquid foundation to blend everything in and give my face more of a matte finish. I recently started using this IT Cosmetics Airbrush Perfecting Powder and I love it. It is breathable and finished and blends perfectly. I apply this with the largest brush from my Sonia Kashuk Brush Set.
Contour & Highlight:
The rest of the steps are pretty quick and easy! I use my new Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit and it has been great! When I contour I try and go by the “3” rule. I make a three on the side of my face, putting the pigment on my forehead, under my cheek bones, and then on my jaw line. I explain in the video! I love the highlighter in this kit. It is subtle and beautiful!
Blush. I haven’t purchased a new blush in who knows how long. I love the one I have so I haven’t gotten another on. The Bobbi Brown Blush in the color Sand Pink is such a great blush. The color stays all day long. A little goes a long way, hence why I haven’t gotten anything new!
Brows:
My brows are naturally full, but I love to shape them and make them look less patchy. I absolutely love my Lancome Sourcils Waterproof Eyebrow Gel-Cream, in the color Chatain. I apply this with my favorite Anastasia Beverly Hills #12 Large Synthetic Duo Brow Brush. It is so easy to work with and the final result looks super natural, just the way I like it! A little goes a long way so it will last forever!
Eye Shadow:
I have talked about this Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette before and I’m bringing it back!! I love that this pallet has all the basic colors you need in one small pallet. The colors are matte with the exception of the lightest color having a tiny bit of shimmer. This pallet is the best for those days that you want just a little neutral eye, or like today where I create a beautiful smokey eye! Today is started with the color Foxy and applied it all over my eyelid with my fluffiest shadow brush from this Sonia Kashuk Essential Collection Complete Makeup Brush Set. I then applied the color Naked 2 to my crease with the same fluffy brush. Next I applied the color Faint on the outer corner of my lid making a bigger/chunkier v shape. I used the smaller fluffy brush from my set. Last I used the color Crave to apply to the very outer corner of my eye with the smallest shadow brush. Then I took the fluffiest brush from the set, wiped the light color off, and used it to blend all my colors together. I hope this all makes sense! Refer to the video to see how I apply the shadow.
Lashes:
I get asked daily what I use on my lashes. You can find a step by step tutorial HERE! Today I am using two of my favorite products. I used my Tarte Lash Curler first. If you don’t already own this, you need to, I promise. This curler makes such a big difference. The curl is amazing, and it lasts all day long! I can’t live without this! Then I used my all time favorite mascara, Loreal Lash Paradise. This is only $10 and works amazing! I love that it is build able without making your lashes clumpy.
Lips:
I am always trying new combonations with my lip colors and I am really loving this one. First I applied my Nyx Professional Makeup Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in the color Lace Detail. This stuff stays put. I love that it doesn’t dry my lips out, and the color is gorgeous! Then I layered my all time favorite gloss, Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in the color White Russian. This color is great by itself, but layered on top, it makes for the perfect nude lip!
That completes the look! I can’t wait to repeat this look over the next couple of months! What looks are you wanting next?? I hope this tutorial was helpful!
XO,
Corrine Monique
