Good morning! It has seriously been a whirlwind of the past two weeks, and there are definitely not enough hours in the day. We have been going none stop and I planned on having this post up on Monday, but life happens right! If you have followed along with me you already know I absolutely love planning parties!!! Birthday Parties are on the top of my list, and I think both Jax and Mia are jumping on board too! They are always asking who has a birthday next and what kinds of fun things we are going to do to celebrate the next birthday boy or girl! I love it! I am always planning something, and Pinterest is always my go to!! I love brainstorming and making a dream board for any upcoming party! Make sure you are following along with all my Pinterest boards, here!
Okay back to the party! Mia is much less particular about things she likes and her interests. The girl is into everything and loves to play with all the toys! I knew I wanted to plan her party to be outside since it’s our little kick off to the summer and I am obsessed with all the rainbow things right now!! Mia loved the idea and totally jumped on board with the rainbow theme and we started finding rainbows everywhere!!
You know me I absolutely love takings pictures. Sometimes too many pictures. I like to come up with a fun little shoot for the kids now that they are getting older. Since we were planning a ‘Rainbow’ party I HAD to do a photo shoot with a bundle of balloons right!? I dreamed it up and my amazing friend helped me capture the photos!! I have loved working with Candice and am so sad to leave her! Do yourself a favor and go follow her Facebook, here, and find her on Instagram, @ic3photography! The pictures turned out exactly how I imagined, and I can’t wait to get some hung up in Mia’s new room!!
These photos totally set the mood and got us all so excited for the rest of the party! My main focal point for the party is usually always the food table. That’s where everyone hangs out and it’s so fun to have a cute presentation! I wanted a balloon arch. I found so many beautiful arches on pinterest, and I knew Jules could help me create something! He is responsible for the Popcorn Balloon Arch we made for Mia’s 1st Birthday, you can see that HERE! This time I wanted something bigger since it was going to be set up outside. I was so excited to be able to work with Party Zealot. Their products are super easy to use and I was totally impressed with the whole process! So basically you order the type of arch, column, or balloon structure you want, and it comes right to you in the mail!!! You can also order the balloons and everything is at such a great price! I couldn’t believe how easy it was to create our balloon arch and I did it all by myself, with some help carrying the balloons outside! If you are wanting to create a balloon arch for any up coming parties, this is the way to go! I’m convinced I need a balloon arch for all the events… They are so much fun! Party Zealot was so kind to give me a discount code for all of you!! Use the code Corrine20 to recieve 20% off your order!! Let me know what balloons creations you make! I can’t wait to see!
Once I got the arch up I added the number 4 balloon and the Happy Birthday banner I found in the Target Dollar Bin Months ago! It all turned out exactly how I wanted! Party planner tip: If you see a cute banner or fun little cups or bags at really great prices, grab them! I am always digging through the Target Dollar Bins to find little odds and ends for $1 and I always end up using them eventually! The table cloth is also from Target as well as the doilies we turned into a runner. I loved all the bright colors with a little touch of girly!
As far as the food, I wanted to keep things really simple. Jules had been traveling to California Monday-Friday, and I had been going 100 mph so we decided on getting a bunch of Costco Pizzas! Of course I had to serve some sort of rainbow food so we made the cutest rainbow fruit scewers and yummy rainbow salsa! You can find the recipe for the salsa here! It was so yummy and nice to have some easy refreshing sides to go with the pizza.
For the dessert I made the yummiest Rainbow Marshmallow Dream Bars. I think they were definitely the highlight of the party. You can find that recipe here! I didn’t want to make the cake myself, I’m not the best baker, but I didn’t plan ahead of time to get one made by someone else. I found some confidence and went for it! I found the yummiest recipe, and it really was super easy! All the layers turned out perfect, and I think this is my favorite Birthday Cake to date!! For the cake topper I tied together water balloons! I wanted to recreate my balloon arch and it turned out perfect!
With all the kids attending the party, I knew I wanted to make little party favors for the little ones! I collected sunglasses, bubbles, and some other fun stuff to keep everyone entertained! I think the Skittles were the biggest hit, and every single kid went home in a sugar coma! Sorry parents!!
Every single year on the kid’s actual birthday I make them Birthday Pancakes!! I love this sweet tradition and they look forward to it every year! One of my favorite things is to look back at the previous years and see how much they have grown!
The party was a success and everything turned out amazing!! Jules and I can’t thank everyone enough for making this happen and all the love for our sweet Mia!! Happy Birthday Baby Girl! We Love You!
XO,
Corrine Monique
